Meet the Team

Todd, a native of Mountain Home, Arkansas graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1988 and from Southwest Missouri State in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Upon graduating, he worked in his family's drywall contracting and residential home building business. He obtained his insurance license in 2000 and worked for a local independent insurance agency before founding his own agency, Todd Gilbert Insurance, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, in 2008. In 2018, his son Buck became part of the agency, continuing the family legacy into the next generation.

Todd and his wife, Jodi, have four boys—Jake, Buck, Wyatt, and Rhett—and five beautiful grandchildren. A member of First Baptist Church of Mountain Home since 1994, Todd has dedicated the last 24 years to coaching youth baseball and basketball. He served as president of the Mountain Home Youth Baseball League and was one of the founding members of the Top Flight Youth Basketball Program.

In his leisure time, Todd enjoys surfing on the lake and fishing on the rivers with his family. Both he and Jodi are passionate supporters of several local non-profit organizations, including Baxter Health, Hospice of the Ozarks, Baxter County Library, Food Bank of NCA, Serenity, Mountain Home Athletics, and Top Flight Youth Basketball.

Buck Gilbert is a dedicated insurance agent based in Mountain Home, Arkansas. A proud native of the area, he joined the family business in 2018, working alongside his father, Todd. This partnership reflects their shared commitment to the community and exceptional service. Buck is married to his wife, Rachel and together they are raising four daughters, which fuels his passion for safeguarding families and their futures.

With expertise in a wide range of insurance products, Buck specializes in home and auto insurance, commercial property coverage, and life insurance. He takes great pride in protecting his clients' assets and ensuring peace of mind through comprehensive coverage options. In his spare time, Buck enjoys coaching youth basketball and spending time on the lake with his family and friends. 

Sammie Smith serves as Controller of TGI.  She joined the team in 2024 after 26 years in the banking industry.  Sammie is a Certified Public Accountant and graduate of the University of Arkansas with a BS in Accounting.  A Mountain Home, Arkansas native, she is married to Brent Smith, and they have two children, Tatum and Stratton.  Sammie and her family enjoy active lifestyles including spending time on the lake, hiking, and playing tennis.

Hugh Monger joined TGI in 2012... He is a graduate of Mountain Home High School in Mountain Home, Arkansas and the University of Arkansas with a degree in Agribusiness/Economics...  He has over 26 years of experience handling all lines of insurance needs...  He is married to his wife Sondra and they have two children, and four grandchildren who are the joy of their life...  Hugh is an avid duck and pheasant hunter and enjoys spending as much time as possible on Lake Norfork.

Brent Smith is a licensed agent who joined TGI in the fall of 2025 bringing with him over 15 years of experience in corporate sales as well as over 10 years of experience in entrepreneurship. Throughout his career, Brent has excelled in developing relationships with his clients always keeping their best interests in mind. Brent looks forward to continuing to meet his customers’ needs whether it is in home and auto insurance, commercial coverage, or life and health insurance. Brent has been a resident of the Mountain Home area for over 30 years where he has been active in the community. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce and is also a graduate of the Chamber Leadership Program.

Brent is married to his wife Sammie, and together they have two children, Tatum and Stratton. Brent and his family love the Mountain Home, Arkansas area and all it has to offer including the lakes, rivers, hiking trails, and quality of life. In his free time, you can find Brent playing tennis or cheering on his favorite sports teams.

With 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, Cassie Alkire joined TGI in Mountain Home, Arkansas in June 2025 as Commercial Lines Manager. Cassie holds licenses in both Arkansas and Missouri in property/casualty, life, accident, health, and sickness lines of insurance. In 1998, she and her husband relocated to Arkansas to raise their family. With three children and seven grandchildren, Cassie enjoys family gatherings and spending time with them on the lake and at amusement parks. And, yes, Cassie, still loves to ride roller coasters!

Jeanelle brings more than 15 years of experience to TGI in Mountain Home, Arkansas to better serve your insurance needs. Jeanelle and her husband, Frank (Bud), have two sons Landon and Mason, daughter in-law Olivia, and three grandsons, Jaymason, Korbyn, and Samuel. When not working, Jeanelle enjoys spending time with family, crafting, and going to the lake. Very community minded, Jeanelle has been a member of Mountain Home Junior Auxiliary since 2013 serving on the Executive Board for four years, and currently chairs the Amy Klein Memorial Scholarship. She is also a founding member and current President of the MH NJROTC Booster Club.

Melissa Vinson rejoined TGI in Mountain Home, Arkansas in 2024 as a Benefit Account Manager, bringing over 20 years of experience in employee group benefits to the agency.  Melissa is married to her husband, Joey Vinson Jr, and together they have two sons, Benton and Kolby.  Family is at the heart of Melissa’s life, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.  Outside of her professional career, Melissa enjoys spending time with her boys, often found on adventures at the lake, cheering at the race track, or enjoying her passion for gardening.

Monica joined TGI in Mountain Home, Arkansas in the fall of 2023 as a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative, transitioning from a lengthy career in health care. Recently, she has expanded her expertise to include servicing individual health insurance policies. A native of the Twin Lakes Area and a 2007 graduate of Cotter High School, Monica enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Cody and their daughter Brooke. The family loves camping, floating the river, and cheering on their favorite football teams.

Ashley Heaton launched her Commercial Insurance career at TGI in Mountain Home, Arkansas in 2024, building upon her experience in the Insurance industry since 2021. She is married to David Heaton, and together they have two handsome sons, Chance and Morgan. The Heaton family enjoys a variety of activities throughout the year, including fishing, kayaking, and tumbling at the gym. Morgan loves his baby gym classes, while Chance adores participating in ninja classes.

Tracie brings a wealth of experience to the TGI family with more than 25 years in the insurance business holding a property and casualty license. Having worked in nearly every independent insurance agency in Mountain Home, Arkansas, we are glad she has chosen to work with us! She and her husband, Adam, enjoy camping, hiking, and kayaking with her grandchildren, as well as traveling and visiting friends and family.

Brooke joined TGI in Mountain Home, Arkansas in the fall of 2025 as a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative. She brings with her a solid background in customer service, along with a fresh perspective and a strong desire to continue learning and growing within the insurance industry. Brooke is passionate about helping others and takes pride in providing clients with dependable, personalized support. She values building meaningful relationships and strives to create a positive experience for every person she works with. Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors — whether it is relaxing by the lakes and rivers or exploring new places. She also cherishes time with her family and enjoys caring for her energetic Corgi, who keeps her on her toes.
